It’s been a long and fruitful journey to where we are today, 8 Lean Startup Program waves have concluded successfully with a 9th on the horizon. Following is a round-up of some of the best startups that we’ve incubated so far:
Kinecto, a LSP8 graduate and a current incubatee, sought to tackle a major problem to anyone who uses a mobile phone. Phones these days have bigger screens and faster processors, but little advancement in terms of battery life. Kinecto solves that by creating a phone case with a built-in battery that charges itself while you walk. They claim that you only need around 5,000 steps, basically an hour in Villaggio, to get your phone fully charged to 100%. If preordering was an option, I’d be the first one to get it.
- The International Spearfishing Academy
This startup targets the adventure seekers; The International Spearfishing Academy offers courses that are truly unique. CEO & Founder – Dr. Jamal Alkhanji was quoted saying, “We offer the first ever written manual on spearfishing in the world”. Courses are available for anyone above 18 years old and is a competent swimmer.
Restaurants are always trying to better understand their customers and create personal relationships with them, and that’s where Feed comes in. Their app connects restaurants with customers in a way that’s never been done before. By learning about their likes and dislikes, among other details, of a specific customer, the restaurant can better serve the customer’s needs and understand their trends.
A true Qatari success story, S.Ishira is the first luxury perfume line that is meant for corporate gifting, completely made in Qatar. Showcased in Milan’s luxury perfume exhibition – Esxence for 2 years drew massive awareness and admiration for what S.Ishira has to offer.
Catering the education sector, Ibtechar is a platform that uses technological innovations to improve the teacher-student relationship. By updating the teaching methods used in schools today into methods that are more engaging for the students, teachers can better deliver the information to a more interested student. Their biggest achievement is the Sanea bus, a moving workshop that interacts with students to increase awareness and interest in innovation.
